But I would plead that it's only because certain rules of common sense have become politicised that EP does seem in any way right-wing. If the liberal-left didn't so often stake its positions on such extreme ideological ground, the statement of scientific principles would be seen more as the neutrality it is, not some sort of right-wing backlash.
